By contributing to CASA: Advocates for Children of New York State, you are
helping to safeguard an abused or neglected child. The New York network
of CASA programs served 3,765 abused and neglected children
in 2009. But this is only a fraction of the more than 25,878 children
who are in foster care in New York State because they cannot live
safely with their families.
The State Association provides critical leadership, technical
support, specialized training, and resource development to help local
programs serve more children each year. We promote and assist in the
development of new CASA programs, ensure high-quality advocacy
throughout the network, and coordinate statewide volunteer recruitment
and public awareness campaigns.
More than 895 volunteer advocates contributed in excess of 100,672 hours in 2009, making your donation a highly cost effective
investment. Nearly half of the State Association’s budget directly
funds
local CASA programs and most of the other half finances services,
training, and support provided directly to local programs.
CASA: Advocates for
Children of New York State depends on individual, business, and
corporate donations to meet its annual budget requirements and to fund
special programs and projects. With thousands of children yet to
receive services, the need for CASA advocates is more urgent than ever.
Please help us protect a child by making a donation today.
