Supporting Kinship Caregivers: Navigating Court, Services and Planning for the Present and Future

September is Kinship Care Month

Supporting Kinship Caregivers: Navigating court, services and planning for the present and future.

Join us as we learn how to effectively advocate for children and youth living and being cared for by Kin.  Placement with Kin promotes stability, child well-being, and is the least restrictive alternative to remaining at home.  Kin caregivers experience unique challenges, and there are specific laws in place that help kin to support the care and custody of the children and youth in kinship placements.  This presentation will explore those unique challenges, define permanency options, while assisting in identifying familial needs in order to connect families with critical supports and resources.
Presented by: Christine S. Kiesel, Esq.

Registration is required. This event is free and, while intended for CASA staff and volunteers, it is open to the public. This training NOT a 2 part series. We will host the training twice: an evening session (September 29) and a morning session (September 30).
