IN THE NEWS:
National CASA/GAL and Member Programs Continue to be Mistakenly Linked to Immigrant Advocacy Group in Media Reports
Recently, several media reports have wrongly identified an immigrant services organization as “CASA” or “Court Appointed Special Advocates” in relation to the detainment and possible deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
National CASA/GAL has contacted those media outlets to clarify that “Casa de Maryland, Inc.” or “Central American Solidarity and Assistance” have no affiliation with the National Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem (CASA/GAL) Association or its state or local CASA/GAL organizations across the country.
Change a Child’s Story
Your time today can make a difference in a child’s life forever.
Our volunteers are part of a community that stands up for children who have been abused and neglected.
Court Appointed Special Advocates are community volunteers who are recruited, trained and supervised by professional staff and appointed by family court judges to serve as advocates for children who have been abused or neglected. CASA volunteers make a life-changing difference for New York’s most vulnerable children, many of whom are in foster and kinship care.
