Judith M. Gerber, Esq. is the Chief Attorney of the Attorneys for Children Unit at the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, which represents thousands of children each year in child welfare, juvenile justice and education matters. Ms. Gerber serves on Attorney for Children Advisory Committee of the Fourth Department, Appellate Division; the Executive Committee of the Erie County Court Improvement Project; and a variety of local collaborative initiatives to enhance the status of children across systems. She is also a member of the New York State Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children and formerly served as a consultant to the Commission, spearheading its statewide initiative to address the educational needs of children in foster care.
Ms. Gerber served on the faculty at the University of Buffalo Law School teaching the special education law clinic and legal writing and at Buffalo State College, taught special education law in the School Leadership Certificate Program. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Buffalo Law School.
