CASA Fundamentals: Closing a Case and Saying Goodbye

Join us for a continuing education in service. Open to CASA volunteers, volunteers in training and CASA staff.

Offered via Zoom | Each workshop limited to 30.

Pre-service training and support offered by CASA program staff focuses on how to start and work a case, how to best support children and their families and how to work collaboratively to ensure children’s needs are met. In the process of working on a case, CASA volunteers often come to care about the children and families to whom they are assigned. This workshop explores that sometimes forgotten other end of a CASA case –letting go, closing a case and saying goodbye. Together, our panel will talk about the logistical and emotional considerations when a child is reunified with their parents or other achieves permanency and will lead a discussion of best practices among those who attend.

Presenters, who will be drawn from experienced CASA staff and volunteers, TBA.
